About Gill OS2
What is the Gill OS2?
The Gill OS2 is the offshore foul-weather range from marine clothing brand Gill: a waterproof, windproof and breathable jacket and trousers, made for sailors in rough conditions at sea. It comes in men's and women's versions, and you can buy the jacket and trousers separately or as a suit, which usually costs less.
The OS2 style has been in Gill's range for about 25 years and has been updated many times. The latest 2025/2026 version has been redesigned. It uses Gill's XPLORE® 2-layer fabric with fully taped seams and a PFAS-free water-repellent finish, and some of the materials are recycled.
It suits offshore and coastal sailors, and other boaters who face prolonged wet weather.
How does OS2 fabric keep you dry?
The OS2 fabric combines hydrophobic and hydrophilic layers. The hydrophilic side moves moisture away from your skin, and the hydrophobic side repels water from outside.
What features does the jacket have?
A high-cut collar with a thermal fleece lining and chin guard gives face protection and warmth.
What features do the trousers have?
The OS2 salopettes have a drop seat, adjustable braces and articulated knees for all-day comfort. The pockets include a D-ring for marine tools or a kill cord.
