Yamamoto 40

Produced from limestone neoprene excavated and processed in Osaka using 100% renewable electricity, Yamamoto 40 has a far smaller environmental footprint than conventional petroleum-based neoprene.

Its outstanding insulation comes from containing 30% more air bubbles, allowing it to maintain warmth without requiring increased thickness.

The neoprene’s extremely high micro-cell density makes it more buoyant, lighter, and highly abrasion-resistant.

Its high closed-cell ratio and low elastic modulus enable unrivalled multi-directional stretch, up to 580%, while consistently returning to its original shape.

Fox Fleece Ultra 

Mystic’s warmest and softest internal lining to date, made from 50% recycled nylon.

It offers superior multi-directional stretch and features larger loops for a raised pile that traps warm air while retaining less water, resulting in faster drying times.

Durable, functional, and finished in a striking two-tone oxblood colourway, it enhances both performance and style

 

Recycled Ultra Stretch 

This exterior layer uses a blend of recycled materials that preserve the stretch capabilities of the core neoprene.

Laminated with a ridged channel structure, it helps efficiently drain water for faster drying. The Ultra Stretch layer also adds durability without compromising flexibility.

 

The Finished Product

Improving a best-selling wetsuit is no simple task, yet Mystic continues to innovate. Upgrading the Majestic and Jayde from Yamamoto 39 to Yamamoto 40 preserves durability and warmth while increasing stretch by an incredible 18%.

This unmatched freedom of movement makes paddling and surfing feel effortless, and thanks to outstanding cell memory, the neoprene retains its shape season after season. Yamamoto’s independent cell structure also prevents small tears from spreading, meaning these wetsuits last significantly longer than cheaper alternatives.

Fit is equally important. By 3D-mapping panel construction to reduce high-stress areas, and carefully placing seams to minimise flushing and irritation, Mystic achieves an almost custom-like fit.

Inside, the full Fox Fleece Ultra lining keeps warmth locked in while wicking away excess water. Outside, Ultra Stretch protects the neoprene without reducing flexibility. Both layers incorporate recycled fibres to complement the eco-friendly nature of limestone neoprene.

Natural Foam

Mystic explored numerous renewable neoprene alternatives but found that most sacrificed flexibility—an unacceptable trade-off. So they created their own.

Introducing Natural Foam, a 100% neoprene-free material made from:

• Renewable natural rubber
• Sugar cane fibres for structural reinforcement
• Crushed oyster shells for durability
• Plant oils for enhanced stretch

USDA-certified and engineered without compromise, Natural Foam provides exceptional freedom of movement in a soft, lightweight, and warm material.

 

Eco Fox Fleece 

Made using 100% recycled nylon reclaimed from factory waste, Eco Fox Fleece balances comfort, warmth, and durability.

Its multi-directional stretch helps the wetsuit retain its shape, while its raised pile traps heat effectively.

 

Eco XTR Lining 

A high-stretch thermal lining crafted from recycled fibres, Eco XTR improves heat retention and adds comfort throughout the suit’s interior.

High-End Features in Mystic Wetsuits

 

Glued Blind Stitching with 100% Waterproof Stretch Taping 

Panels are first glued, then stitched halfway through to maintain waterproof integrity. Every seam is reinforced with stretch taping to boost durability and reduce flushing.

 

Aquabarrier 

A printed silicone section placed on the collarbone area of the wetsuit to create a barrier where sections of neoprene overlap to prevent excess water from entering. 

 

AquaFlush 2.0

Intentionally perforated neoprene patches placed on the calves to minimize any build-up of water by allowing it to more easily exit the wetsuit whilst not allowing it to penetrate the wetsuit from the outside.

 

Hex-Tech Kneepads and Embossed Back Knees

A 4-way stretch knee pad with strategic embossing behind the knee promotes effortless flexion and extension for maximum mobility.

 

Non Slip Cuffs

Internal strips of silicone placed on the inside of the cuffs to minimize movement and create a tight seal without restriction.

 

Wetsuit Sizing

A wetsuit should fit snugly, tight enough to maintain warmth but not so tight that it restricts movement or creates uncomfortable pressure.
